Good Shepherd Mission Doctrinal Statement, March, 2019

We believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, of virgin birth, who eventually gave his perfect life as a sacrifice for all (Galatians 4; 4-5, Colossians 2; 9). His Resurrection over death gives life to all who believe in his Gospel (Galatians 3; 13-14). He is part of the Holy Trinity, where all are One....Father, Son, and Holy Spirit (Matthew 29:19). His shed blood on the Cross was a substitute for our sins, and all who believe in this gift will be ushered into Heaven upon physical death to spend eternity there in worship with all fellow believers (1 Peter 3;18-22). Those who reject this salvation will be subject to eternal punishment. (II Corinthians 5; 10, Romans 14; 10-12).

This gift of Salvation is based upon faith, not works, as we cannot build our way into salvation using the tools of sinful mankind. His words and instructions for our life upon this Earth are found in the Bible, which we believe to be the Inerrant Word of God (II Timothy 3; 16-17, II Peter 1; 2021). His infinite grace and love are the foundations of our salvation, not our accomplishments. While on earth, His Holy Spirit indwells all believers for guidance.

We strive to live our lives mirroring Jesus Christ as much as humanly possible, extending His love to all who will listen, in hopes that we may bring others to the saving grace of His Gospel. He will one day come again in power and glory to regather his Church, a day which will bring eternal joy to all Christians.
